We're back again for another round of Stuff We're Loving Lately! You know the feeling, you've gotten a hold of something awesome, and you love love love it! That's what this little blog series is about; things we've been loving right now. Without further ado, here is our family's list!
1. Friday Ice Cream
I started picking Pirate up after school on Fridays. She gets in the car and I have her favorite song playing on the radio, "Rotten to the Core" from the Descendants soundtrack. She gets buckled and we head to the ice cream shop. This is our newest tradition. And it's a special time.
It's a great and yummy way to spend some time with Pirate, make some memories and fill her little heart up with happy feelings. Tootsie Roll is a big fan, as well! Yay, ice cream!🍦
2. DOS Video Games and My Abandonware
Who doesn't love a bit of nostalgia?! Space Quest! Duck Tales! Concentration! Avoid the Noid! These were the games of my childhood.
I grew up using MD-DOS. If you don't know what that is, just consider me old. All you need to know is that DOS was a computer operating system before everyone used a mouse, a touch pad or a touchscreen. Before the world met Google. If you think these games have gone somewhere to die, you might be right. But recently, we've come across these cool websites that have resurrected the games of the past.
Thursday, Pirate and I had a blast spending a couple of hours playing these old school games. You can find some here and here. Oh, and it's totally free to play right in your browser!
I can't help myself, but I'm a sucker for this abandoned duo. That's right, this band seems to be no longer. Ryan McCartan & Dove Cameron, and subsequently The Girl and the Dreamcatcher, have broken up. Insert all sad, sad emjois here.
BUT! Their songs are still on YouTube and still able to be purchased online. Lucky me, because I can't seem to get enough.
You an click here to find it on Amazon, it comes as a digital download - the whole album or whatever single song you fancy. I'm listening to them now as I type!
4. Sol-u-Guard
This bottle of magic is my BFF when it comes to household cleaners.
Is that weird?
That's weird. Let me explain.
I used to swear by the power of bleach. You couldn't tell me that anything could possibly be better.
That is, until a few years ago, when it started making me sick. I'd clean the house and spend the next week feeling like I had a nasty cold. I could feel it in my chest, my throat hurt, my head hurt. Delightful, right?
That's when I remembered a company that my parents we a part of when I was a child: Melaleuca. Spoiler alert: they're awesome. More about them later.
These are products that work really, really well! But are made so safely that they don't even need safety caps or hazardous warning. This is a big deal to us since Tootsie Roll, our one year old, puts ALL THINGS in her mouth.
Bottom line: we're not getting sick from cleaning the house.
If you want to know more, let me know in the comments or send me a message on our FB page.

Sol-U-Guard is one of our favorite products. One spray and smells good, natural, and a healthy clean. Powered by thyme oil and citric acid, it kills 99% of household germs. And we'd have a lot of them otherwise.

5. Descendants 2 Trailer
Oh, c'mon! You had to know this one was coming! The trailer for this dropped last week at the Radio Disney Music Awards.
It's pretty wicked! Pun totally intended.
We are eating this trailer up. If you read last week's post, you may already know what die-hard Descendants fans we are around here. Just ask Pirate.
